Privacy Policy

The short version: your writing never leaves your computer, and we collect as little about you as we can get away with.

1. Your manuscripts

Novl.Studio is a local-first desktop application. Your projects — manuscripts, characters, notes, settings — are stored in files on your own device. The App does not upload, sync, or transmit your writing to us or to anyone else. We cannot read your work, and we never will be able to.

2. What the App collects

Nothing, by default. The App contains no analytics and no telemetry, and it works entirely offline. The App contacts the internet only when checking for app updates and activating or validating a license key.

You may optionally send crash reports as anonymized data. This is opt-in — we do not collect crash reports unless you turn that on.

3. What we collect when you buy a license

Purchases are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd., which collects the details needed to process payment (name, email, payment method, country). We receive your name, email address, and license record so we can deliver your key and provide support. We do not see or store your payment card details.

4. What the website collects

novl.studio uses no cookies and no analytics tracking. If you email us, we keep the correspondence so we can help you.

5. What we never do

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not run advertising. We do not profile you. We do not use your writing, or anything derived from it, for any purpose — including training machine-learning models.

6. Data retention and your rights

We keep license records for as long as your license is valid, and support correspondence for as long as it is useful for helping you. You may request a copy or deletion of the personal data we hold about you by writing tosupport@novl.studio. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, and we honor them.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with an updated date. We will not quietly weaken it.
